New players
coming in !
THE
CUNNING FOX - LEICESTER CITY WEBZINE - 01.07.2008
Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson told the official website
that new faces would come in at the club during next week, they
are now on their way !
20 year
old defender Michael Morrison is signed from non-league club
Cambridge for an undisclosed fee. Morrison is believed to be a
player Leicester have signed in the region of £ 150 000.
Morrison had allready played 105 league games for Cambridge and
is a highly rated player in the lower leagues. An exciting
signing by Pearson and a player who can progress and become a
good league 1 player.
Iain Harte is rumoured to be on his way to Leicester, but
Pearson will get competition from Ipswich and Swansea. Harte
played for Sunderland last season but is mostly known for his
days with Leeds United. A left sided player, mostly used as
full-back, but can also play in midfield. A great free kick
specials with a fantastic shot. Still only 30, and at this level
he would probably be a great hit, if he stay free from injuries.
Bury's Welsh U.21 international Nick Adams is believed to be the
next man coming in. Adams is known for his talent and regarded
as one of the most exciting young prospects in League 2. He has
played 77 league games for Bury in which he has scored 14 goals.
Adams is used as a midfield flank and is out of contract at Gigg
Lane.
There are no more news about Darren Moore (Derby) and Michael
Nelson (Hartlepool), both beleived to be targets for Nigel
Pearson.
This is in a way promising news. New City manager Nigel Pearson
is trying to sign young, up and coming, hungry players. We all
know where we signed Neil Lennon, Robbie Savage, Steve Guppy and
Matt Elliott. They all came from lower league clubs and turned
into fantastic signings. This is the way forward, but we all
have to wait and see if the youngsters coming in has the
abillity to take the next step as these great City heroes did.
