Stefan Oakes was previously a midfielder at City. He left the club in 2003, after a good run of games given his debut by a certain Martin O'Neill.

Oakes is currently with Lincoln City, but was more or less frozen out by former Imps manager Peter Jackson. Chris Sutton, the former Chelsea, Norwich and Chelsea forward is now in charge at Sincil Bank and that could be a lifeline for Oakes.

Oakes was one of many young prospects coming through the youth academy at Leicester when Martin O'Neill was in charge. Other players such as Matt Piper, Emile Heskey, Jordan Stewart, Matt Heath also progressed in this period.
