THE CUNNING FOX - LEICESTER CITY NEWS - 29.06.2010

Pearson exit confirmed

Nigel Pearson is today confirmed as the new manager of Hull City. This is in no way what you would have expected, and a bit of a surprise, after getting the news during the weekend

Nigel Pearson did a great job at Leicester and he will be remembered for two great seasons, firstly bringing us back to 2nd tier football and then taking us all the way into the play-off's.

The fact that Pearson joins Hull City makes you wonder if the man is desperate to get away from Leicester and just take the first possible job coming up, or the temptation of a lucrative short term contract that will secure him as a person for a long time coming.

There is no doubt that Pearson knows his football a b c and that is a man that can bring stabillity and good results to clubs searching for a new route to follow.

He came in at a club that had experienced a downfall of dimentions, and struggled heavilly both financially and on the field. Leicester was at the bottom of the ladder, lower than any time in their club history.

He managed to bring the best out of young players such as Michael Morrison, a great buy from Cambrdige, Andy King and Matty Fryatt. Fryatt had been a bit in and out, but under Pearson he bloomed.

Everyone will miss Nigel at Leicester, but when a man don't want to stay it's useless to try to hold him back.

Now it's tiger time for Pearson !
