Sousa move, desperation or genius act

Paulo Sousa is the man Milan Mandaric turned to when it was clear that Nigel Pearson left the club after not being able to sign a new contract at the club

Paulo Sousa has a record as player that no one can doubt and his international experience is also impressive. His manager career started at QPR. He was sacked and spent a few months "in the garden" before joining Swansea in front of the 2009-2010 season.

His first season with Swansea must be described as a success. The start was terrible but he slowly put his team together and spent most of last season in the play off zone, dropping out to Blackpool on the final day of the season.

Sousa and Swansea was close to promotion, so where we. Sousa  has build a bit of experience on his attempts to bring a club up in the Premier League.

Swansea fans are not impressed and they are not totally depressed about losing Sousa to Leicester, but TCF believe that Mandaric has done a good appointment.

Sousa is still young, only 39, and he should be up for the job.

But as in front of last season I'm not convinced that he will manage to lift City on his own without a check book to use.

It's nice to have a goal for straight promotion, but will City and this squad be that good ?
